VEG-O-DRAMA

This week seems to have been quite drama filled for us vegans. The thing is with us vegans is we tend to take ourselves very seriously. Or so I thought.

APPARENTLY, PETA believes we take ourselves a little too seriously. Yes, according to PEOPLE FOR THE ETHNICAL TREATMENT OF ANIMALS vegans need to chill out a little. They released a statement… well I’ll just let you read it:

http://www.peta.org/living/vegetarian-living/tiny-amount-of-animal-products-in-food.aspx

*sigh*…

If you chose not to read that, basically PETA said: fake being a vegan so it doesn’t seem like a hassle and other people will want to be vegan too.

Ummm… WHAT?! ARE YOU FUCKING KIDDING ME?!

The company who convinced me to go vegan is now telling me to cheat? Is this a joke? Please, someone tell me they were hacked.

No. They weren’t hacked. They truly believe it is okay to be what I’m going to call “mostly vegan”.

SO, I am now establishing that there are two types of “vegans”. There are ‘VEGANS’ and ‘PETA’s MOSTLY VEGANS’. Please use these terms. If you are one of PETA’s Mostly Vegans, stop calling yourself a vegan.

SECOND DRAMA OF THE WEEK:

VegNews. *sigh*

They are a disgrace to the vegan society. If you’re not a vegan, you might not understand. Try to understand where I, and so many other vegans are coming from.

Basically, the magazine has been using “stockphotos” in their VEGAN magazine that contain meat. In their statement, they DID NOT apologize for upsetting their readers, and said they use stockphotos simply because it was cheaper.

MANY vegan readers said they would much rather see blurry pictures taken with a cell phone of real vegan food rather than support a magazine that pays for pictures with MEAT. By buying these pictures, they are supporting and paying for the use, manipulation and profiting of dead animals. VERY NOT VEGAN.

Unreal. I can’t believe all of this.

On top of all this, a boy in my school this week said he didn’t like arguing with vegans because they were nut jobs…

I’d rather not comment on this and just let you imagine how angry I was and which profanities came out of my mouth when I heard this. Let me tell you, it was NOT pretty.

Okay I lied. Here’s the link:

Hopefully, next week, “EARTH WEEK”, will be a better week for us vegans. I think we deserve a break.
